Finished up at TJ-II today. Last few days I’ve been preprocessing a dataset of ~1400 shots, which will be the dataset we use for near future collaboration. Initial clustering results look promising, but need to work on optimising the clustering algorithm. Tomorrow I fly to Berlin, where I’ll stay for a night before heading up to Greifswald for a week. This morning I made my way to the Embassy to vote, thankfully my experience was unlike that of Mr Verloc (from Conrad’s Secret Agent to which I’m listening at the moment after discovering librivox.org). Tonight, after 3 weeks, I finally get to sense the Madrid nightlife - heading out to dinner with R and some of his friends. Dinner here doesn’t start till 10, and I’ve been warned that no-one expects to head home till 6am around here. Tune in next time for ‘Did Dave manage to catch his flight the following day?’.
